What do you do with your spare time and expertise?  Would you like to discover the rewards of helping individuals with significant disabilities live independently within the community?

Become an Independence Place Volunteer!

Volunteerism is the backbone of the Independent Living movement in Kentucky.  Federal funding keeps the doors open at IP but does not scratch the surface for meeting individuals’ needs!  You may find yourself answering phones while IP Staff work one-on-one with consumers or attend necessary meetings to enhance community networking.  You may explore the community yourself in the hunt for independent living aids and/or services to meet needs.  You may enjoy stuffing envelopes or subscribing people to the free accessible electronic newspaper!  A wide array of areas in which you may use your skills exist at Independence Place.

If you’d like more information, please e-mail Pamela Roark-Glisson, Executive Director.
