The Work Incentive Planning Assistance (WIPA) program is a Social Security Administration funded Cooperative Agreement to provide benefit advisement to
persons ages fourteen through sixty four who are receiving SSI and or SSDI disability benefits and who want to know the impact of earnings on their benefits
and medical coverage.
WIPA is the Kentucky statewide program where Benefit Specialists, meeting one on one with consumers and their families, identify Work Incentives that will
support training options and employment so that they may make informed choices regarding work. The program provides information about federal, state and local work incentive programs and related issues.
WIPA is administered by two centers for independent living: Independence Place, Inc, in Lexington Kentucky and Center for Accessible Living in Louisville
Kentucky.
