Independence Place, Inc. administers programs to the seventeen county service area in addition to regional and statewide programs. IP is responsible for the service delivery system mandated by the KY SILC as the KY CIL, the Social Security Administration which mandates the Work Investment Planning Assistance services for the Central and Eastern Regions of Kentucky, and the National Federation of the Blind which mandates the coordination and maintenance of the KY NFB-NEWSLINE® newspaper reading service-a statewide program. Independence lace, Inc. is also the home of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Action Network of Kentucky which partners with entities around the Commonwealth to ensure the full and voluntary compliance to the ADA. IP also serves as a supporting sponsor to the KY Association of the Deaf-Blind, also a statewide project.
